Roco Kingdom Resource Planning: What to Save and Spend

A Roco Kingdom resource plan for Vitality, coins, magic dust, rare balls and breeding time, with beta rules and launch rules kept separate.

Last Updated: 2026-10-27

Every Roco Kingdom account runs on five bottlenecks: Vitality, coins, magic dust, rare balls and breeding time. Most players fixate on coins because coins are visible. The accounts that progress fastest spend Vitality on unlocks, save dust for the one nature change that matters, and treat rare balls as a strategic reserve rather than a capture button.

The resource names and sinks below come from the Chinese launch version; the global beta may rename them or change the values. This plan separates beta rules from launch rules, because the wipe changes the correct behavior.

The resource table

Resource Main source Main sink Rule
Vitality Time, items Story, bosses, rare seeds Never let it cap; never waste it on registered species
Coins Drawers, dailies, gathering Storage, story purchases, upgrades Keep one region of expenses in reserve
Magic dust Dailies, events Nature changes, growth Save for a finished team, not a temporary pick
King Balls One-time drawers, events Legendaries, prismatic captures Never use on a common species
Prism Balls Quests, events Controlled variant captures Pair with a guaranteed-nature egg
Breeding time Real time Egg queue Keep three eggs running during active play

Vitality: the only resource that punishes waiting

Vitality regenerates and caps. Every hour at cap is progress you cannot recover.

The spending priority:

  1. Story unlock. A new system is worth more than any single reward.
  2. Rare-seed stage for an unregistered species. Combines collection and experience.
  3. Boss materials for a committed upgrade. Only if you can clear it reliably.
  4. Breeding or home tasks. Cheap and steady.
  5. Wild battles for experience. Last, and only if you need the level.

The official known-issues list warns that accepting a main quest and then teleporting can set Vitality to zero in the beta. Check the bar after a teleport before you commit to a boss.

Beta rule

The test wipes. Do not hoard Vitality items for launch, and do not skip content to "save" a resource that will disappear. Spend to learn the systems.

Coins: keep a reserve, not a pile

Coins are flexible, which makes them easy to waste. The reserve rule is simple: keep enough for the next region's story purchase and one functional upgrade.

Buy in this order:

  1. Storage and bag space.
  2. Traversal upgrades that remove a real bottleneck.
  3. Story-required purchases.
  4. Skill or nature costs for your main team.
  5. Cosmetics, last.

The money farming guide covers the income loop.

Magic dust: the launch resource

Magic dust is used for nature changes and growth in the Chinese version. It is the resource most likely to be wasted early because the first nature change feels affordable and the second one does not.

Rules:

  • Do not change the nature of a Jinie you have not finished leveling.
  • Do not change the nature of a Jinie that is not in your main six.
  • Do not spend dust on a beta account you will lose.
  • On launch, save enough for two changes before you spend on one.

The breeding guide explains how to get the right nature through inheritance instead of paying for a change.

Rare balls: a strategic reserve

King Balls and Prism Balls are not better versions of the normal ball. They are keys to specific outcomes:

  • King Ball: legendary or high-value capture.
  • Prism Ball: a variant you have already controlled through breeding or a guaranteed egg.
  • Normal ball: everything else, including most story captures.

Using a King Ball on a common species is the most common early mistake. The capture succeeds, and the resource is gone.

Breeding time: the invisible resource

Eggs run in real time, but hatching runs on in-game distance. That means the cost is not just the timer; it is the activity you pair with it.

Efficient pairing:

  • Start three eggs before a story session.
  • Hatch during a map sweep or a long quest route.
  • Do not pull an egg early; the progress resets.
  • Do not start a project you cannot level after it hatches.

Beta plan vs launch plan

Decision Beta Launch
Hoard coins No Yes, one region reserve
Change natures No Yes, after the team is final
Use King Balls Test on a legendary Save for a legendary you will build
Breed Learn the UI Commit to one project at a time
Spend Vitality Learn the priority order Follow the order exactly

The beta is a rehearsal. The launch plan is the one that matters.

A one-page weekly budget

  • Vitality: story first, then rare seeds, then one boss route.
  • Coins: claim everything, buy nothing cosmetic, keep the reserve.
  • Dust: bank it.
  • Rare balls: bank them unless a legendary or controlled variant appears.
  • Breeding: three eggs running during active sessions.
  • Time: one long session, four short ones.

If you follow only one line, follow the Vitality order. It is the resource that compounds.

Where to go next

The money guide covers income; the breeding guide covers egg costs; the best team guide shows where upgrade materials go.

FAQ

What should I save first? Magic dust and rare balls. Both are scarce, both are easy to waste, and both matter more after the story.

Should I spend coins on cosmetics in the beta? No. The beta wipes, and the functional upgrades are a better use of the same coins.

Is Vitality shared between characters? The global beta uses one character per account in the test. The Chinese version's account structure may differ.

Do resources transfer to launch? No. The wipe removes characters, items and currencies.
